19 Wiosen is punk rock done differently: ironically, and with keyboards. The band was formed over 20 years ago in Łódź (specifically, in a train from Łódź to Wrocław) and combines the best Anglo-Saxon punk traditions with camp covers of crowd favorites by the likes of Hanka Ordonówna and Piotr Szczepanik. They occupy the sidelines of the punk scene, and pretty much every other scene, but they’re not ones to look optimistically toward the future. Their latest album, released by Galeria Raster, even bears the pessimistic title “Farewell to the World”. |
